Lighting Up The Chakras

Our energy centres or chakras are associated with colours; the base chakra with red; the sacral chakra with orange; the solar plexus chakra with yellow; the heart chakra with green and pink; the throat chakra with blue; the third eye chakra with indigo; and the crown chakra with violet or white.
Working with the colours of the chakras can help you redress the imbalances that occur when there are blockages in our flow of subtle energy.

If you are a Reiki practitioner with Level II, visualise the power symbol in the palms of your hands and activate it before you begin the following meditation. if not, then just follow the meditation as indicated:
Focus on the colours of the chakras by visualising drawing in your breath at the base chakra and watching it light up each chakra in the associated colour as it travels up to the crown chakra.

Sit on your cushion. Close your eyes and on the first in-breath visualise white light entering at the base chakra, which glows a bright red in response. Picture your second breath entering in the same way but following up to the sacral chakra, which shines orange. Then, on your next breath, imagine the light reaching the solar plexus chakra, which glows yellow. In subsequent breaths imagine the light reaching in turn the heart chakra and shine green or pink, the throat chakra shining a blue light, the third eye chakra shining indigo light and finally the crown chakra shining violet or white.

In your mind's eye, envision each chakra radiating light in its own colour and finally, imagine all of them glowing at once.
Rebalancing your chakras in this way will boost your sense of well-being.

Raise your Vibration

Raise Your Vibration

Everything in the universe is made of energy. The speed at which it vibrates determines its density. For example, light vibrates at a very high frequency, and something like a rock vibrates at a lower frequency but a frequency nonetheless. Human beings also vibrate at different frequencies. Our thoughts and feelings
can determine the frequency at which we vibrate, and our vibration goes out into the world and attracts to us energy moving at a similar frequency. This is one of the ways that we create our own reality, which is why we can cause a positive shift in our lives by raising our vibration.

Think of someone you know who has a bubbly personality. Vibrant literally means
"vibrating very rapidly".

The people who strike us as bubbly or vibrant, are resonating at a high frequency, and they can inspire us as we work to raise our vibration. On the other hand, we all know people that are very negative or cynical. These people are vibrating at a lower frequency.

They can also be a blessing in our lives, because they can show us where we do not want to be vibrating and the reason.

Take a moment observe yourself and try to rate your vibration in order to start your inner work to raise your vibratory rate.

One of the most practical ways to raise your vibration is to consciously choose where you focus your attention. To understand how powerful this is, take five minutes to describe something you love unreservedly; a person, a special place, an experience. When your five minutes are up, you will noticeably feel more positive and even lighter. If you want to keep raising your vibration, you might want to commit to spending five minutes every day focusing on the good in your life and feeling gratitude for having it. As you do this, you will train yourself to be more awake and alive. Over time, you will experience a permanent shift in your vibrancy.

Receiving a personal Reiki Symbol

     Receiving a Personal Reiki Symbol

All students of Reiki learn about the process by which Dr Usui received his Reiki Symbols on the mountain after his 21 day meditation, however, we are not told that we might receive the gift of a personal Reiki symbol and how this would come about.

Talking from personal experience, of course, after completing my Reiki Master training, I did a lot of research in Reiki and Meditation, but it is our own personal experiences which become invaluable during this process. Two years into practicing Reiki, and while sitting in front of my computer, I found myself looking into a few very bright lights which insistently shone next to my right eye and affected my vision in a frightening way, because I could not focus on anything. Having heard about bright spots of light as a sign of an impending migraine, I was worried that it might be the case although I had never had one of these signs before then.

I excused myself and moved to a room where I could be alone and proceeded to do self-healing on my head. As soon as I closed my eyes, the lights shone even brighter and I could clearly see a symbol being formed. I had never seen this symbol, but as soon as I realized it had to be a Reiki symbol, it faded into nothing and was gone completely. I went back to work, bewildered but feeling very grateful for having been honoured with my own symbol. Then came the questions: What am I supposed to do with it? When do I use it? What is its name?

I meditated on it several times but the answers would not come to me, so I left it in the Universe’s embrace and decided to wait patiently and without questioning, for the Universe has its own sense of timing. It took another six months until I understood what the symbol was to be used for and the appropriate name for it. It came in a meditation, it just stood in front of my third eye area and then there was a picture which told me in no uncertain terms, the name and use of the symbol.

Since then I have been prompted to use it during treatments both distance and hands-on sessions. On a few occasions it has appeared in front of my eyes again, even while I am driving, and then I know it has to be used on myself for healing and protection. As soon as I direct its energy to the area where it is needed the most, it starts to fade away as it works. It is an astonishing experience and one which I am deeply grateful for.

Dr Usui’s experience was definitely not a figment of his imagination; those little lights do bring with them a powerful symbol, never doubt it for a moment.

I have recently received a second symbol but am still trying to discover its meaning and name.

I hope all you Reiki Masters out there will share in this experience one day if you haven’t already. It is a priceless gift from the Universe.

Smudging

Smudging

There are various rituals and methods that may be used when smudging and one or more herbs used in different combinations or alone.

Rooms and psychic tools, such as crystals and various objects that hold energy, should be cleansed / smudged regularly. The initial smudging is for the purpose of purifying the space and participants and also for banishing any lower and unwelcome energies. Cleansing the ceremonial space before and after the event is an essential part of spiritual hygiene. The final smudge is to cleanse any negative vibrations attracted or created during the proceedings.

Used in the home and on self, maintains individual and domestic harmony.

It can take many forms; at times, herbs are tied in a bundle with string to form a smudge stick and allowed to dry. Loose dried herbs may also be placed directly onto burning wood in a fireplace and fanned out into the room to cleanse it. Always have an outlet for the negative energies to leave your space by leaving a door or window open while smudging. Invite the lower vibrations to leave and state your intent that they are not welcome in your space, then proceed to fan out the smoke into every corner of every room with your intent in mind, always. If you are a level II Reiki practitioner, then use the Reiki symbols to strengthen your cleansing throughout each room.

If you use Guides and Angels, remember to express your gratitude.

Treating Arthritis with Reiki

Treating Arthritis with Reiki

There are a few forms of arthritis but basically all relate to inflammation of a joint. It is recommended to avoid dairy products and animal fats.

Treat the joints with the 'sandwich' position, by placing one hand above and the other below the affected joint. Let the energy flow through the arms, legs and feet. Place one hand at the top of the shoulder area and the other on the wrist, then allow the energy to flow for a while.

Ask the client to lie on the stomach and place one hand on the upper leg where it joins the buttocks, and the other hand at the ankle, letting energy flow in the leg.

Lay one hand on the sole of each foot, with the fingertips covering the toes, this is good for treating the foot reflex zones of the whole body, or alternatively give your client a full body Reiki treatment.

Starting a Reiki Journey
In most instances, people choose a Reiki teacher by recommendation of a friend or acquaintance, however, being a spiritual practice, it is best to let your intuition guide you to meet the right teacher for you. You should feel comfortable in the presence of your teacher and have an open communication channel with him / her.
It is important to note the different approaches to teaching and to be able to exercise your right to free will and therefore freedom to choose your own beliefs and Truth. No-one should impose their views on you as 'Gospel Truth', you must be free to find your Truth without fear.
Our intuition is a fantastic tool to assist us with this quest to find the right teacher so it is best to use it. Do your homework and research until you are comfortable that you have found the right one. Have you ever heard that "When the student is ready the teacher appears?"

Hands-on Healing

Energy Healing

We all use our hands to heal whether we realize it or not. When we hug someone to reassure them, when we touch a child's injury to ease their pain, etc, these are all forms of energy healing because we are consciously channelling it through our caring and unconditional love for others when we are propelled to do so by our inner feelings. We have all experienced easing of pain when we have a headache and automatically raise our hands and hold the painful area and soon afterwards the pain eases a little.

In this instance we are using our stored energy banks which with time can be depleted causing additional discomfort and illness. When we are trained and attuned to use Reiki, the energy is channelled and passes through the practitioner and onto the client, all the while benefitting the practitioner as well as the client. All Reiki pratitioners feel a sense of calm and profound relaxation after a Reiki session on someone else.

The hands-on healing of Reiki is unique in the simplicity of learning the method. The Reiki energy is immediately accessed by the practitioner and the energy flows fast and strong from the first attunement. This energy is accessed instantly the moment the practitioner states the intent to use it.
