Candle Meditation




This meditation works on the higher chakras. Prepare for the meditation by sitting in a comfortable position at a place where you will not be disturbed for 30 minutes. Breathe in to a count of four, hold your breath for four seconds and slowly exhale for four seconds. Repeat this step three times and feel your body and mind relax as your thoughts start to clear out. If more thoughts intrude, calmly release them and tell your mind that you will deal with them later.

Light the candle and dedicate it to your Higher Self or preferred spiritual guide. Say your protection prayers or daily dedication prayers. Return your attention to your breathing.

Look at the flame of the candle and notice the aura of light around the flame. Notice its aura colours.
Close your eyes and see the entire flame and its light within your third eye chakra as it illuminates this energy centre and gently opens it.

Allow the flame to move down into the heart chakra, see it bathing this energy centre with its light and gently opening it. this light removes all the darkness from the heart chakra. Then the light expands until it fills the entire chest, spreading to the shoulders and down your arms. It then spreads further to fill the abdomen, pelvis and your legs.

Now, the flame slowly rises up into the throat chakra where it lights up this centre and gently opens it. It moves to the mouth as the light of truth and trust. Slowly, it rises further up into the head and fills it with light. The light expand and shines through the eyes and ears. All darkness dissipates from the mind. The light in the heart centre glows stronger and shines out of the body and around it.

Let the light fill the room in which you have been meditating.Let it spread further to surround your family, friends, colleagues, enemies and rivals, strangers and all beings on the planet, not forgetting to include the planet. Allow the light to fill and illuminate everything and everyone.

Take your time to absorb this light and be in this light. This is your soul's light, the light of Source. Thank your Spiritual Guide for the Light. 

Slowly return to consciousness, feel your feet, legs and whole body. Stand up and stamp your feet to ground your energy.
